Marie Beverforden was the first child born to Hermann and Sophie Hinnkampe Beverforden on July 11, 1869. Her parents were both immigrants from Germany. Hermann was a butcher by trade.
Marie became pregnant with my great grandmother, Louise Marie King when she was about 16 years old. Louise's father was Wilhelm King. He worked as a stone mason who practiced his trade in St. Louis. As far as I can tell, he and Marie never married.
Nothing more is known of Wilhelm King or what happened to him, however Marie married twice after her 'relationship' with Wilhelm. First, she married a man named Fritz Benzler and to this union three children were born:
Mary Anna Benzler b:?
Fritz Benzler b: December 9, 1890
Herman Benzler b: February 2, 1897
She married a third time to Henry Collins and two more children were born:
Henry Collins b: August 13, 1899
Martin Collins b: December 26, 1906
Marie lived her entire life in St. Louis, Missouri. She died on November 5, 1940 at the age of 71 years.
